Commercial Water & Ice Systems in Riverton

Water coolers and ice machines installed and looked after by our own technicians, about 20 minutes from our shop.

Serving Riverton

Riverton's busiest workday address is 12600 South. Intermountain Riverton Hospital opened there in 2009, and its campus now holds around 40 physician offices, from orthopedics and podiatry to a children's outpatient center. Between the hospital and Bangerter Highway, office and medical suites carry that work into the neighborhood: specialty practices, billing teams and small offices where a dozen people share one staff room.

Farther west, Mountain View Village spreads across 13400 South between Bangerter and the Mountain View Corridor: more than a hundred shops plus a Class A office complex built for employers recruiting a younger workforce. The east side keeps an older, smaller scale. The historic downtown runs along Redwood Road by City Park, and City Hall itself is a converted elementary school, with storefront offices on the blocks nearby.

Our Salt Lake City shop is about 20 minutes away, down I-15 and west on 12600 South or Bangerter. The technician who makes that trip is a Water Star employee, and a visit to repair or replace a machine never shows up on a bill. If the cooler in your staff room came from a provider that stopped returning calls, run one of ours free for a week. 98% of the businesses that try it keep it.

Riverton water.

Riverton buys its drinking water wholesale from the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District. The city once pumped its own wells for that, but it stopped in 2015 after residents said the well water was too hard and tasted bad. One of those wells, the Green Well, is back in the mix behind a membrane treatment plant the city built to stretch the district supply. Riverton also runs a fully separate pressurized secondary system for lawns and landscaping, and city officials say nearly every home is connected to it; that irrigation water never feeds a cooler. Utah water is hard, and the calcium and magnesium in it scale up hot tanks and ice makers over time. The reverse osmosis inside each of our machines takes out most of those minerals, along with the chlorine taste, before anyone fills a cup.

Where does Riverton's drinking water come from?

Mostly from the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District, which sells it to the city wholesale. Riverton shelved its own wells for drinking water in 2015 because the water was hard and tasted off, and it has since brought the Green Well back with its own treatment plant to add to the supply. Whatever the mix in a given month, our machines run it through reverse osmosis, and we change the filters at the maintenance visit we book every 12 to 18 months.

Our Riverton building has secondary water. Can a cooler hook up to that line?

No, and it never would. Riverton's secondary water is untreated irrigation water for lawns and landscaping, on its own pressurized pipes. Coolers and ice machines go on the building's culinary line, the same one that feeds the break room sink. Our rep finds the right line at the free site visit, so you don't have to sort out which pipe is which.

Our practice near Riverton Hospital sees patients all day. Can the install work around clinic hours?

Yes. Tell us when the staff room is quietest and we'll plan the visit for then. The work stays in that one spot: we tee off the existing water line with small tubing, connect a drain and plug the machine in, then tidy up before we go. Patients in the waiting room won't notice we were there.

Do you also look after offices in Draper, Bluffdale and Herriman?

We do. Riverton borders South Jordan to the north, Draper to the east, Bluffdale to the south and Herriman to the west, and the same technicians cover all of them, plus West Jordan. Past the south valley we cover the rest of Utah, so a company with a second office in Lehi or Ogden can keep one phone number for both.
